KI Design partners with PrivacyCheq to deliver custom GDPR compliance solutions with ConsentCheq

IT ‘compliance toolkit’ enables rapid prototyping and deployment of required notice, consent, logging, user interactions

YORK, Penn – September 6, 2016 /Wire4Tech/ Today, PrivacyCheq announced a worldwide partnership agreement with KI Design LLC to distribute ConsentCheq CDK, its compliance solution for the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). KI Design is a leading privacy consulting firm, focusing on healthcare, retail and ‘Big Data’ enterprises.

The GDPR requires ‘informed, active consent’ from users prior to the collection and use of their private data, requiring technical changes to user touchpoints, potentially damaging highly refined user acquisition flows. Under this relationship, KI Design’s team can offer clients rapid prototyping and optimization of user consent flow as required by GDPR. The ConsentCheq CDK provides a complete set of technical tools, sample models, and cloud services that facilitate GDPR’s requirements for user notice, consent, logging, reporting, breach notice, and parental consent for children under 16.

“Our clients know they must be GDPR compliant by May 2018, but they are just beginning to think through the time table and the potential effect on their properties if GDPR consent is improperly handled. PrivacyCheq has obviously thought through the steps needed for a company to test multiple approaches and optimize their compliance in the short time before GDPR enforcement begins. For us, the ConsentCheq CDK is a tool we can use to swiftly find and deploy the best compliance solutions.“ said Dr. Wael Hassan, CEO of KI Design.

Roy Smith, PrivacyCheq CEO said “KI Design is a perfect example of a ‘one stop’ GDPR compliance provider, delivering functional compliance solutions, rather than assessments, checklists and recommendations. We are delighted that they will be introducing the ConsentCheq CDK to Canadian Retailers in booth 20 at the RCC Loss Prevention conference on Sept 29, 2016.”

ConsentCheq GDPR “Compliance Development Kit” Eases Notice and Consent Burden For Global Enterprises

Library of pre-built compliance models and cloud services enable DPOs to easily test and optimize GDPR compliance strategy

YORK, PA, USA. – April 20, 2016 /Wire4Tech/ Today, PrivacyCheq announced the ConsentCheq Compliance Development Kit (CDK) , a new privacy compliance service that provides enterprise data privacy officers (DPOs) and their consultants with a complete set of technical tools and sample models that dramatically reduce the time and effort required to prototype and optimize compliance with the recently ratified EU General Data Protection Regulation (known as the GDPR).

In order to comply with the GDPR, businesses that process EU user data must capture and log user consent to personal data collection, provide users with the ability to see what has been collected, give users the ability to revoke their consent and erase their data, and be able to notify users in a timely manner in the event of a data breach.  Because these complex user interactions are new, enterprises seeking GDPR compliance will require technical changes to their websites and apps in accordance with GDPR’s ‘data protection by design’ mandate.

Roy Smith, PrivacyCheq CEO said “The GDPR impacts not just EU-based companies, but every enterprise with a global online presence, as well as manufacturers of products that touch user privacy such as ‘Internet of Things’ devices.  Unlike most privacy laws, compliance with the GDPR’s notice and consent strictures requires new technical development. We created the ConsentCheq CDK to enable IT departments and compliance consultants to prototype, test, and optimize the compliance strategy of each device, web site or app quickly and inexpensively compared to building custom in-house solutions.”

Smith continued “When optimal compliance strategies for all user touchpoints have been tested, proven and are ready to deploy, an enterprise can choose to build their own compliance backend technology or continue using ConsentCheq’s Amazon AWS-based SAAS infrastructure, built to handle hundreds of millions of daily API requests, easily handling the traffic demands of even the largest enterprises.”

The ConsentCheq CDK includes cloud-based tools to facilitate GDPR notice and consent compliance, specifically Articles 6, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 34, and 53.  A library of working model implementations illustrates a variety of potential multi-lingual compliance scenarios for both nonidentified and identified adult users, children under varying consent age and their parental guardians.  To encourage rigorous testing and optimization, the ConsentCheq CDK license includes six months of unlimited access to the ConsentCheq cloud services.

The ConsentCheq CDK is available for worldwide licensing immediately. For pricing, contact sales@privacycheq.com.   More information is available at http://www.consentcheq.com.

Privacynq Brief Eases Consumer Privacy Concerns for IoT Products

New standard for easy-to-understand privacy and security disclosures builds consumers’ digital trust in IoT product

Click to Tweet

YORK, PA. – September 21, 2015 /MobilityWire/ — Today PrivacyCheq (www.PrivacyCheq.com) announced the immediate availability of Privacynq, a new service enabling manufacturers of Internet of Things (IoT) devices to easily and effectively disclose privacy and security practices to consumers of their products.

Until today, it has been very difficult for consumers purchasing IoT sensors to wear or place in their homes to know where the massive amounts of captured data was being stored, where it was shared, and what (if any) precautions were being taken to protect it. At the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show and numerous other speeches, the Federal Trade Commission has urged the IoT industry to self regulate and ‘design for privacy’ by giving users a clear understanding of the privacy and security aspects of their products.

The Privacynq service provides an elegant solution to this IoT “privacy vacuum”, enabling manufacturers to easily deliver consumers a condensed privacy and security report called a “Privacynq Brief.” The Privacynq Brief gives concise, understandable answers to the best questions that a privacy and security expert would ask when considering the purchase and use of an IoT product, such as “How do I benefit from this data being captured?”, “What is captured?”, “Who is my data shared with?”, ”How is it secured?” and “How will you notify me if a breach occurs?”

To help consumers make informed purchasing decisions, Privacynq Briefs can be easily viewed on any smartphone while shopping in stores, on a desktop PC while browsing e-commerce sites, and even from an IoT product’s mobile ‘dashboard’ app. Unlike paper or static web notices, the Privacynq Brief is an always current “live” online document, tracking any changes in the product’s privacy and security policies whenever it is viewed.

“While the 2015 Pew privacy survey showed that 91% of consumers feel their privacy is ‘out of control’, consumer IoT manufacturers have so far missed a great opportunity to impress consumers by being forthright and open about privacy and security,” said Roy Smith, PrivacyCheq’s CEO and founder.

“We created the Privacynq Brief to give the emerging IoT industry an easy way to delight users by delivering clarity on privacy and security, as recommended by the FTC. What we are doing for the IoT market with this disclosure is analogous to the ‘Nutrition Facts’ labels on packaged food that show important dietary and ingredient information, allowing shoppers to make informed decisions. This type of standard disclosure is critical to build consumer trust in IoT products as they become more and more integrated into our daily lives.”

A sample IoT Privacynq Brief can be viewed on any mobile or desktop device at http://tinyurl.com/privacynq. The Privacynq service is available immediately with a free 30-day trial at www.privacynq.com. Discounted pricing is available for IoT incubators and startups, and the service is free to students and educational institutions.
